Bringing Local Values Back to Colorado

Audrey Herman is a compassionate person of integrity. No matter the circumstance, Audrey strives to honor the good in all people and stands against injustice wherever it is found. It is this determination to stand against injustice that has precipitated her decision to become a Representative of the People in Colorado government. Current legislators are not listening to constituents and Audrey is here to answer those pleas to be heard. Audrey believes in the transformative power of open-hearted servitude and has thus allowed her life challenges to break her heart wide open in order to grow her into an empathetic woman who can support and encourage the positive growth of all who enter her life.

Born and raised in Colorado, Audrey has watched the government slowly encroach upon the family unit. As a stay at home mom of four kids, ages 3 to 13 years old, Audrey has a passion for protecting parental rights. Colorado Democrats would have you believe that parents are not to be trusted with the well-being of their children and prefer to treat all parents as a potential child abusers who cannot be trusted with decision making powers. While Audrey firmly agrees that those parents who engage in abusive or neglectful behavior should be punished, she acknowledges that most parents are dedicated to loving and providing for their children and do not deserve to have their rights encroached upon. Parents, not the government, are the stewards of their children until they reach maturity.


Audrey is a long-standing supporter of TABOR and strongly opposed Proposition CC when it was introduced in 2019. Audrey is committed to fighting for the financial health of hardworking families of Colorado by maintaining TABOR.  Being a proud member of the working class and no stranger to the stresses of raising a family on a limited income, Audrey understands that tax hikes are a burden to Colorado families. Colorado’s Taxpayer Bill of Rights (TABOR), is an extremely important way to  protect Coloradans- you work hard for your income and TABOR ensures that the government must continue to seek your permission to spend your money  rather than asking for an accountability free check to fund their erroneous programs and outrageous spending as Proposition CC sought to do. If Colorado families must operate on a spending budget, so too must the government.

Maintaining school choice has always been an important Colorado value. Audrey plans to ensure that the fundamental right of school choice stays in place. Not being bound to the school that is attached to your child’s address allows parents the freedom to choose the best educational fit for each one of their children. Not all schools are created equal and not all students will succeed in the same environment. As a parent, you recognize the importance in providing a learning environment in which your children can thrive, whether that be in a more traditional school setting, a charter school, private school, online public school, or homeschool. Making sure parents maintain this option for their children is an issue Audrey holds close in her heart. While we as parents deeply appreciate the input of our schools and governing bodies, it is ultimately the parents choice on how their child gets educated.
